How It Works
WM-FieldForm is designed to simplify each step of the landforming process, from surveying and design to execution and verification.
Surveying and Design
The process begins with creating a topographic survey of the field using RTK measurements. Farmers will define boundaries, interior points, and calculate the true acreage of the surveyed area.
Once the survey data is collected, it is imported into the WM-Form design software. This powerful tool allows farmers to create optimised field surface drainage designs by defining primary and cross slopes, prescribed orientations, and preferred grades to meet more complex field requirements. The software also incorporates advanced dirt-balancing algorithms to minimise topsoil disturbance, ensuring a more sustainable and efficient landforming process. The streamlined workflows are designed to be easy to follow and quick to learn.
Hardware and Software Requirements
To fully utilise the WM-FieldForm system, farmers will need the Precision-IQ™ field application on PTx Trimble’s GFX-1260™ in-cab display, which provides powerful visualisation and auto-design features. A tractor equipped with the NAV-900 guidance controller is also required for GNSS accuracy. Additionally, an RTK base station is necessary to achieve 2.5 cm vertical accuracy for precise landforming operations.
