IonoGuard Techonology
Introducing Trimble IonoGuard for Precision Agriculture, PTx Trimble is excited to announce the availability of Trimble IonoGuard™ for the precision agriculture industry! This feature is now available for NAV-900 guidance controller users with Precision-IQ™ firmwa version 14.60 – at no additional charge. When combined with a Trimble ProPoint Ⓡ GNSS positioning engine, users can maximize RTK performance.
What is IonoGuard?
IonoGuard is a next-generation technology engineered to enhance RTK GNSS signal tracking and positioning performance during ionospheric disturbances, ensuring more reliable and accurate positioning while in the field.
Importance of IonoGuard
Farmers operating near equatorial regions are regularly impacted by ionospheric disturbances year-round; however, during times of peak solar activity, the impact can be felt globally. Solar activity peaks every 11 years, and Solar Cycle 25 is projected to be the next maximum. Farmers around the world have already begun to experience the impacts of Solar Cycle 25 during the solar storm that occurred this past May, resulting in costly downtown during in-field activities and operations. Due high solar activity, the largest ionospheric effects of Solar Cycle 25 a projected to continue to impact customer operations throughout 2026.
